AFC Teens Conference 2018 - This Hope (Senior Grades 9-12)

Branching from last year's TC theme of “If Only", we want to go deeper. “This Hope" is based off of Matthew 8:18-27 and Colossians 1:27, We live in a world that seems so hopeless. Our newsfeed bombarded with so many different issues on a daily basis and there seems to be nothing we can do. Nothing we can do about the natural disasters and diseases. Nothing we can do about the manmade disasters from crimes to politics. Nothing we can do for those struggling to grasp their identity and voice with depression and mental health being brought into such open discussions. But the hardest still, nothing we can do within ourselves as we fight for hope inside; mentally, physically, and even spiritually. We see the pain, we see the facade behind the picture perfect posts. Being surrounded by these things, what can we hold on to? What can we hope in? As Christians, we do have THIS hope. This Hope of glory, our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ, HIMSELF is our hope in all this turmoil. We are called to be an extension of this hope to our broken world. At TC 2018, we pray to take each person on a journey to revisit the ageless truth of this Hope that we have. What is this hope? Who is this hope? Where is this hope? How can we live in light of this hope?
