Summer

Ministry Support - High School


Start Date/End Date: July 12, 2021 to August 31, 2021 Hours per week: 37.5 hours Deadline to Apply: Accepting Applications Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of training workshops for student leaders and missional students;
  • Support student leaders in their preparation for the 2021-22 high school academic year including the planning of community programming for their peers, recognizing unique challenges in having to potentially plan/implement online and/or in-person programming;
  • Support the planning of a large-scale event during Summer 2021 designed to provide an opportunity for primary/middle school graduates to meet senior high school students, allowing for an easier transition into high school;
  • Work as part of a team tasked with coming up with creative media to help students converse about and critically engage in matters about life and spirituality;
  • Conduct qualitative survey or research to explore and propose community outreach opportunities that high school Christian clubs can engage in with the goal of better serving the diverse needs of their respective school communities e.g. peer mentorship, mental health and addiction challenges, befriending and integrating foreign students, etc.

Graphic Design Assistant


Start Date/End Date: August 3, 2021 to November 12, 2021 Hours per week: 18.75 hours Deadline to Apply: Accepting Applications Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop design concepts and universal branding to celebrate AFC’s 50th anniversary
  • Design templates implementing new branding for electronic (icons, document and presentation templates), online/digital (websites and social media channels), and print formats (business cards, signs, posters, flyers, and other publications); and,
  • Design opportunities for interactive engagement (online/digital and in-person) with visitors highlighting the history of AFC and significant milestones

Ministry Support - Post-Secondary


Start Date/End Date: July 12, 2021 to August 31, 2021 Hours per week: 37.5 hours Deadline to Apply: Accepting Applications Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of training workshops for student leaders and missional students;
  • Support the planning of a large-scale event during Spring-Summer 2021 designed to equip and encourage post-secondary student leaders to serve their campus communities;
  • Support student leaders in their preparation for the 2021-22 post-secondary academic year including the planning of community programming for their peers, recognizing unique challenges in having to potentially plan/implement online and/or in-person programming;
  • Reach out to and engage graduating high school students in supporting them to find community and transition to post-secondary life;
  • Support the planning of a large-scale event during Summer 2021 designed to provide an opportunity for high school graduates to meet post-secondary students, allowing for an easier transition into campus life;
  • Organize gathering of student leaders to learn and apply vision casting for their campus group
  • Work as part of a team tasked with coming up with creative media to help students converse about and critically engage in matters about life and spirituality;
  • Conduct qualitative survey or research to explore and propose community outreach opportunities that university/college student clubs can engage in with the goal of better serving the diverse needs of their respective campus communities e.g. peer mentorship, mental health and addiction challenges, befriending and integrating foreign students, etc.

Strategic Communications Support


Start/End Date: August 3, 2021 to November 12, 2021 Hours per week: 18.5 hours Deadline to Apply: Accepting Applications Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a comprehensive communications strategy for AFC’s 50th anniversary, highlighting the growth and evolution of the organization and providing opportunities for alumni and visitors to be engaged in the organization’s work going forward;
  • Support the parallel development of an advancement strategy, catalyzing opportunities for financial partnerships;
  • Based upon a review of organizational history, develop strategies to communicate key narratives reflecting upon the organization’s growth and evolution.
  • Develop a broad array of communications products across all channels (electronic, online, and print) highlighting the organization’s history, significant milestones, and future growth opportunities.
