Live, Laugh, Lament - Making space for grief and God

Daisey Lin & Adriane Pong

Making space for grief and God: What does it mean when Jesus says, "blessed are those who mourn"? What is the difference between grief and mourning? This workshop will look at different methods to process grief and look at how scripture gives us permission to experience our humanness in lament. This workshop will not just address death loss, but will acknowledge different forms of loss.

About Daisy & Adriane

Daisey’s heart lies in jumping into the trenches of life’s most difficult moments and walking alongside others through loss, change, and grief. She currently works as a spiritual care practitioner at Princess Margaret Cancer Center providing support for patients and families at the hospital. Daisey is a graduate of the Pastoral Thanatology program at Tyndale University and loves grappling with questions of death, emotions, and all that makes us human. In her free time, Daisey enjoys writing songs and eating shawarma.

Adriane is a companion for the dying and grieving, or in fancy terms, a Certified Thanatologist Pastoral Specialist. She cares for those experiencing hard realities in life by making space for them to just be. She wants to share the whole spectrum of life with youth and enjoys analysing case studies of loss in anime to do that. Currently, Adriane is learning how to hold both celebration and mourning together. She loves her two cats, even though one of them is a food-stealing gremlin.
