Junior Day 2 - The Problem with Saving the World
Ever tried to help and it just didn’t?
Sometimes our best intentions to “save the world” actually make things worse. Instead of creating change, we can end up creating dependence.
Have you ever wondered why some solutions to poverty don’t seem to change anything? In this interactive workshop, we’ll explore how we think about poverty and what it truly means to help. Instead of just addressing symptoms, we’ll dig into root causes and see how short-term fixes can unintentionally cause harm.
Through hands-on activities inspired by Tearfund’s work in Africa, you’ll think critically, collaborate with others, and imagine approaches that lead to lasting change both locally and globally. If you’re passionate about justice, compassion, and making a real difference, this workshop will help you rethink what it really means to “save” the world.
