Life and Faith After High School: Where is God calling me, and how can I practically grow in my faith?

In this session we are going to zoom out a little bit and think about some of the big questions. What am I passionate about? What are my talents? Where do I see need in the world? How do these impact what I want to study and how to choose a career? Some of you might know exactly what you are hoping to do, regardless this session will help you to start working towards an idea of vocation.

We will also explore practical ways in which you can actively grow in your faith and make it your own after you leave the four walls of your school/home. Come join us as we wrestle with why many leave their faith or become/stay lukewarm as they enter this next stage of their lives, and how we can ensure that does not happen to us.

About Louis

I am passionate about walking alongside the next generation of Christ followers, and have really experienced God in a deep and real way as I discovered my passion to inspire young people to experience God for themselves via university campus ministry and JR/SR youth ministry. I am an OG sneakerhead (Favorite sneaker I own = Kobe 6 Protro Grinch), love to eat popcorn chicken at TC with Darren, and play basketball. I have the blessing to be the husband of Eileen (an avid TC alumn while in high school), and parent to Magnolia (10) and Tobias (7). I served as a youth leader/pastor for over 10 years, and have been working at Redeemer University for the past 4.5 yrs.

About Lauryn

I have worked at Redeemer University since August 2023 and am also an alum, having graduated in 2021 with an English Writing major and a double minor in Media & Communications and Philosophy. I am deeply passionate about Christ-centred communities and the ways in which God works through the blessing of community! I love writing, reading, hiking, traveling, playing music, and learning languages (currently learning French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, and Hebrew on Duolingo!). While I am originally from Calgary, AB, I now live in downtown Hamilton with my husband.
